new bed

E has loved her crib for so long, and never thought about having any other kind of bed til I mentioned the possibility -- and then she wanted to get it "right now!" So anyway, we took the mattress out and put it on the floor. The next day, she struggled to figure out how to say something, thinking aloud about 'long, straight things' until finally she said, "Mommy, we need to get two squares and a big rectangle to go on it." I guess she's asking for a bed frame.

She has rolled off the mattress a couple times, but she loves it. It will be nice to have more space in the room when we figure out what to do with the crib.
